For more than 4 mattresses, the City directs residents to a private recycler. Fees and acceptance conditions still apply; street or alley dumping is prohibited.^[1]

• Parking

  Toronto’s temporary resident/guest permits are not general commercial-truck permits. Eligible vans or pickups must meet personal/family-use conditions, a maximum length of 5.2 m and registered gross weight of 3,000 kg.^[2]

  A Toronto temporary permit does not override parking prohibitions or temporary snow-removal restrictions. It is non-transferable and non-refundable, and applies only at the signed locations and times allowed by the permit rules.^[2]

  Toronto’s commercial loading zones are public space for active loading or unloading, with no exclusive right for one user. Check the posted operating times; a nearby loading sign does not reserve a bay for the full duration of a move.^[3][4]

The permit cannot extend beyond the property’s street frontage unless the adjoining owner gives written consent and waives related claims against the City. Confirm the applicable permit with Right of Way Management for the actual equipment and address.^[5]

  OHIP has no waiting period for eligible applicants; you do not have to wait 153 days to apply. Apply in person at ServiceOntario with three separate documents proving eligible status, Ontario residence and identity, following the accepted-document rules.^[6][7]

  Ontario’s OHIP residency requirements normally include making Ontario your primary home, being present for 153 of the first 183 days after establishing residence, and 153 days in any 12-month period. Eligible status and exceptions also apply; these day counts are not the complete eligibility test.^[6][7]

  New Ontario residents have 60 days to exchange their licence. Eligible Canadian licences may be exchanged, with requirements depending on class, status and driving experience; learner permits and certain other licence categories are excluded.^[8][9]

  When moving to Ontario with an ordinary passenger vehicle, register it within 30 days at ServiceOntario. Bring insurance, prior ownership or registration documents and the required safety standards certificate.^[10][11][12]

• Health coverage

  For an ordinary permanent move from B.C. to another province, MSP covers the remainder of the departure month plus two months. An extension of up to three additional months may be granted for time in transit. Notify Health Insurance BC of your departure date and new address.^[13]

• Lease

  British Columbia month-to-month tenants must give one full rental month’s written notice before the rent-due day. Most fixed terms continue month-to-month unless ended correctly; leaving a fixed term early can create compensation liability. Do not treat the moving booking as the tenancy notice.^[14]

  British Columbia tenants must normally leave by 1 p.m. on the last tenancy day, usually month-end. A different date or time needs an agreement in writing signed by both parties; coordinate the pickup window against that handover instead of assuming access all afternoon.^[14]
