Street access
The Kanata Town Centre plan covers about 230 hectares on both sides of Highway 417, between Campeau, March-Eagleson, Katimavik and its western planning edge. It covers only one part of broader Kanata.[1]
Buildings
The Centre plan promotes higher-density residential, commercial, civic and employment uses on Kanata Avenue between Earl Grey and Lord Byng/Maritime. A home near that mixed-use spine differs from a detached property elsewhere in Kanata.[1]
Street access
The Centre plan treats the north and south sides of the Queensway separately and identifies limited crossings. A pedestrian connection on its map is not automatically a moving-vehicle route.[1]
Transport
Ottawa’s Kanata LRT assessment follows a proposed corridor north of Highway 417, crossing at Huntmar and continuing toward Hazeldean. The assessment maps a future extension; it does not certify current rail or road operations.[2]
Permit
Ottawa says a moving vehicle that follows existing parking regulations needs no encroachment permit. Street occupation requests by moving companies are not eligible for Temporary Consideration parking permits; they use the encroachment process.[3][4]
Bulky items
Ottawa’s curbside garbage collection is every 2 weeks with a 3-item limit; each piece of bulky furniture counts as 1 item.
